Susie Dixon Garner

Susie was raised in the 5th District, graduated from Galax High School, and attended Emory University in Atlanta, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She subsequently earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

To complete her formal training, she worked in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a large accounting firm for 3 years, before returning to Galax with her husband.

As a Certified Public Accountant, she started her own successful accounting firm where she and her husband continue to provide service to Twin County businesses and individuals.

Susie has been a businesswomen her entire adult life while at the same time raising their two children.

Understanding the importance of and relishing the rewards of public service, she has been active in the community.

Susie served 12 years on the Galax City School Board and currently serves on the boards of Wytheville Community College and the Crossroads Institute.
