Lord's Acre Sale

The 2009 Lord's Acre Sale has been scheduled for September 26th at Felts Park in Galax.  A worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. and the sale opens at 10:00 a.m.  Proceeds go to benefit the churches of the area.  The rain date is October 3rd.  Popular items for sale at more than a dozen church booths include tasty food, baked goods, canned goods, and all kinds of crafts including Christmas and Halloween decorations.

Just a few of the great "finds" my crew has brought home from the Lord's Acre Sale over the past few years:

• potted aloe and herbs
• necklaces and earrings
• canned soup in jars
• toys, including little dolls
• clay pins
• handpainted wooden eggs
• candles
• slingshots
• garden sass, including cabbages, potatoes, peppers and more
• fall decorations such as Indian corn, gourds, small pumpkins
• banana bread
• sourdough bread
• jams and jellies
• bath salts with a tag that read "Remember Lot's Wife" (my personal favorite)

Musical entertainment is provided for buyers and sellers throughout the day.  Bring the kids!
