Yes You CAN Cook - Update2

This short comment is touched off because I was extremely concerned that a neighbor and his mom felt that they could and would and perhaps must survive on the dollar menu at a burger place instead of cooking. 

The bad economy is still affecting people, yet some are still making very bad decisions.  I suspect some is learned helplessness combined with lack of time.  The US go'vt actually has a study that shows that many are having ends meet even with food stamps, because food stamps assume you can and will cook.

Many of us have already aquired the infrastructure to do some cooking - I strongly suggest starting with a crock pot.
