The Ornament: A Musical Drama by Philip Keveren

The Ornament, a wonderful musical drama, by Phillip Keveren, will be presented at Hillcrest Baptist Church this week-end.

The story tells of the Keagan family. Henry Keagan, played by David Swicegood, has recently lost his wife. Henry’s family, played by Courtney Frederick, Seth Criner, Errol Bugh, Chas Parks, Hailey Parks, and Lindsey Nale, have decided to gather together to support Henry during the Christmas season. Ashley Nale, plays Shasta, who is one of Henry’s sons’ girlfriend. The main messages are that, while circumstances in our lives may change, the one constant we can always depend upon is found in the love, grace, and presence of the Lord Jesus and that God is always faithful to lead us through. The choir is made up of the adult choir members and the church’s two older youth groups. The musical selections have some very familiar Christmas carols and some beautiful songs written especially for The Ornament.

The stage director is Jason Criner. The music director is Carolyn Davis. James Spivey, James Parks, Justin Patton and Penny Criner make up the tech crew. The presentations will be in the sanctuary :
