Galax Farmers Market June 11 & 12

Hello, everyone! This weekend in Galax we have the annual Leaf and String Festival on Friday and Saturday. The Master Gardeners of the Blue Ridge will be promoting the theme "From Your Garden to Your Table" at their tent on Main street with a grow-your-own-salsa display. Instructions and tips will be provided by the Master Gardeners there. At the farmers market on Saturday, the MGs will be hosting their annual plant sale: Lots of choices in annuals, perennials, vegetable starts and more! A new vendor to announce this week, Donna Marion of Pilot Mountain, NC! Fieldside Produce will be at the market Friday morning and she should have squash, zucchini, broccoli, lettuce, onions, cheddar cauliflower, new red potatoes, small carrots, and sunflowers. Come by and make Donna feel welcome! Dixie's Chicks from Galax will offer his fresh brown eggs from his pasture raised layers Hollerview Farm from Galax will attend with an early spring selection of greens and roots Gully Creek Farm from Lowgap, NC will have their beautiful and nutritious organically grown shiitake mushrooms, fresh and dried Lazy Branch Creations from Ennice, NC will offer fresh baked breads, several varieties of jam and jelly as well as some lovely farmscape photo cards and handmade birdhouses Groundswell Farm in Galax will have CSA pickup only again this week, 9-12 on Friday Leroy Guynn from Cana said he may have more cherries this week, depending on the weather, so come out and see with the rest of us!
