“No Doubt” Retreat!

You are invited to the “No Doubt” Retreat!

Hillcrest Baptist Church is hosting the “No Doubt” Retreat on August 27-28. Beginning with an event on Friday night, all three area high school students are invited for free pizza, door prizes, praise and worship, led by Karl Geiger, and a devotion presented by Alex Tavarez.

Alex is familiar to many Hillcrest Youth, because he has served at the youth conference where many of the youth have attended. Alex is a magnet to youth with his fun loving attitude and unique approach to sharing Christ. Alex Tavarez is from New York City. He is the father of two and married to the coolest woman on the earth. Being from NY he is a die hard Yankee, Giant, and embarrassed to admit Knicks fan. He loves playing with his kids, hanging out with students and a new favorite is old school Nintendo. Alex is currently the youth director of a church in Huntersville North Carolina and will be starting seminary in the fall.

Karl Geiger is also known by many of our youth because of that same conference. Karl is the music director at Dunellen Pres. Church in New Jersey. He is married and has one step son. Karl's enthusiasm while leading praise and worship is a blessing.

The Hillcrest youth and workers are excited about our “No Doubt” Retreat. Carroll, Galax and Grayson High Schools all have home games the night of Friday, August 27, so students are invited to Hillcrest from after the ball games until midnight. All students are invited back on Saturday from 9:30 am – 11:00 pm. On Saturday we will be sharing praise and worship, playing games, going to Cumberland Knob on the parkway, participating in quiet time, having lunch and dinner together and ending the day with a bonfire.

If you are interested in bringing your youth on Saturday, please contact Carolyn Davis, so we will have enough food.
