The Conservatory of Dance & Theatre in downtown Galax invites the public to attend its Open House and Fall Registration, Friday August 13 from 4:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday August 14 from 11:00am-4:00pm. Refreshments will be served. Classes offered are all levels of Classical Ballet, Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Broadway Jazz and Tap. Ages are 3 to adult. Pre-registered students should also attend to confirm their schedule and purchase shoes and class leotards. Ballet Mistress is Barbara Johnson, artistic director, instructor and former professional ballerina with the Atlanta and Macon Ballets. The Conservatory welcomes new staff instructor Sarah Hall, replacing instructor Lorie Edwards who is on maternity leave.  Galax Youth Ballet auditions will be held Friday, August 20 at 6:00pm. For more information call the Conservatory at 276-236-2105, email galaxballet@yahoo.com or visit www.galaxballet.com. The Conservatory is located at 119 W Grayson Street in downtown Galax. Entrance is in the back under the covered porch next to Flossie’s Restaurant and LS.net.
