Grayson Youth: Win Up to $1,000 and Help Your Community

Grayson LandCare, Inc., a local non-profit organization, has extended the deadline for entries in the Fourth Annual Land Stewardship Competition. We encourage all students in grades 8 through 12 enrolled in a school in Grayson County (Grayson County Schools, Galax City Schools, Oak Hill Academy) or who are residents of Grayson County and homeschooled to submit an entry for the competition by April 30, 2011. To enter the competition, students (either individually or as team) submit a written summary of their project to Ruth Ross by April 30 and then present their project at The Fourth Annual Land Stewardship Fair May 7, 2011 in Independence, VA, where projects will be judged and prizes awarded. Cash prizes will be awarded to first ($1000), second ($500), and third place ($250) winners. Up to five commendation prizes of $50 each may also be awarded. Students who would like information and entry forms for the competition should call or email Ruth Ross (ross@ls.net, 276-773-2757).

Mark Warner, wake up

in

I am furious that Mark Warner is turning against the needs of the people of Virginia. Here is the message I just sent him. Jim, can you post a note from me saying that I would like to encourage everyone who feels as I do to call or send an email or letter letting him know.
